Last Thursday I stepped into the downtown café for the first time and had several very surprising experience.’s Not only did I have the pleasure of live entertainment (Sarah Darling performed) I was very surprised to see that they actually have a dance floor, pool tables, and a small bar.

I was in Lufkin this past weekend and was out running around with my husband and my in laws. We stopped here for lunch. I started out with the chicken Quesadilla. They were very good, and even had bacon in them! I had the Hawaiian chicken salad.

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Cheddar’s her in Lufkin. I was eating during a busy time for them which is lunch. I was seated right away; our server was pleasant and efficient.

I have to say I was a bit skeptic about having lunch in a restaurant located in the basement of an old building. Nonetheless, it was by invitation and work-related. Therefore, I was looking forward to the lunch itself. I arrived downtown and pulled up to the Perry building where an old crane parked right in front of the building was obviously doing repairs. Deep breath. How bad could it be?

The service was excellent, surprisingly, the best I have had in town. I would love to go back... For dessert and service, I’d give Red Lobster a definite thumbs up!
