Ralph & Kacoo’s Seafood Restaurant- Hwy 59-Lufkin, TX My baby brother was in town and offered to buy me and my neice dinner, at Ralph& Kacoos’s. The very first word that comes to mind is Excellent! I have visited the location in Bossier on numerous occassions, and was expecting an atmosphere similar to that. As I walked in the door I noticed the lighting was dim, and the atmosphere was sophistocated for lack of a better word. The décor was rich, and comfortable. We were seated at a large booth with very comfortable cushions. Our waitress haded us menu’s and took our drink orders. There was a tent on the table offering details on their Martini specials. While I by passed the Martini, I made a mental note to tryone of their chocolate or lemon at a later date. My brother ordered a dozen raw oysters on the half shell, for an appitizer and my neice ordered fried pickles. I had tried fried pickles many years ago, and found I did not care for them, nonetheless, I treid them. Awsome! I am sure they had no real nutritional content, but... I would definitely order them again. I choose one of the specials, grilled shrimp and steak. It was cooked to perfection. My brother ordered peel and eat boiled shrimp, my neice ordered the seafood Alfredo. Although she could not eat it all, she was very pleased with it, and brought, at least half home. They served some sort of homemade cheese garlic bread that was wonderful. Our service was prompt and attentive, without being intrusive. The saltwater fish aquarim was a great back drop, and made a nice conversation piece. We visited and finished our dinner, to then be enticed by a huge tray of desserts. Initally we all declined dessert, but in the end---decided on coffee and a brownie and ice cream dessert to share. Did I mention there were about 8 or 10 desserts to choose from? Dinner was excellent, although I do not know how much the final ticket was, my brother paid! According t the menu pricinig, I am certain it was in line with other restaurants of their caliber. I will confidentlly say that this restaurant is one of the best for selection, taste, atmosphere, and service in East Texas. I will definitely give it 5 stars and thumbs up! P. Callaway
